Position Summary

The Mobile Service Technician will independently perform in-field equipment diagnostics and repairs by operating a mobile service vehicle and traveling to customer locations. A strong work ethic, minimal supervision, and excellent communication skills are essential to efficiently complete tasks and effectively articulate the work performed to customers. As an in-field representative of our dealership, you will provide excellent customer service and quality service solutions.

Job Responsibilities

•    Perform diagnostics and repairs on equipment and technology in the field.
•    Conduct field diagnostics and repairs as required.
•    Maintain an accurate inventory of parts kept in stock on the service vehicle.
•    Mentor Service Technicians and Apprentice Technicians.
•    Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities within your area of responsibility.
•    Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
•    Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders, ensuring timely submission of information.
•    Participate in Service Training programs for skills and knowledge development.
•    Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
•    Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
•    Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
•    Stay current on knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.

Qualifications

•    5+ years of experience performing service repairs.
•    Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician’s specialty.
•    Proficient with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
•    Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
•    Proficiency with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer-based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
•    Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•    Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
•    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
•    Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Associate’s degree preferred.
•    CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred.
•    Demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
