Assistant Director for Greek Leadership & Training- Office of Sorority & Fraternity Life - UTK

This position will develop programming, curriculum, and training geared toward the four major components of Greek membership: new member education, future Greek leaders, chapter/council officers, and retention and engagement.

• Assist with the oversight of OSFL, focusing primarily on the development and implementation of a holistic leadership & training curriculum for Greek councils and chapters 
• Assist in coordination of staff meetings, staff evaluations and feedback, and professional development plans 
• Work with the Director to develop, coordinate, and implement Greek leadership & training initiatives in OSFL focused on four major components: new member education, future Greek leaders, chapter/council officers, and retention/engagement 
• Assist in the management of other OSFL programming and education, including areas of wellness, prevention, health & safety, bystander intervention, hazing education, and organizational responsibilities 
• Develop and serve as the primary staff advisor for OSFL Standards of Fraternal Excellence program. This position is responsible for the review and implementation of the Standards of Fraternal Excellence (SOFE), and supports the growth and success of Greek organizations through the Standards of Fraternal Excellence (SOFE) annual assessment
• Serve as primary staff advisor to the Order of Omega
• Maintain strong working/collaborative relationships with the Jones Center for Leadership & Service, chapter advisors, (inter)national headquarters, and supporters
• Serve as primary resource for students, parents and families, faculty and staff, community, and headquarters partners on leadership & training for sorority and fraternity life 
• Responsible for the facilitation of community public relations related to organizational & vendor accountability including website updates, reports, publications, media releases, etc.in partnership with chapter headquarters and university communications teams.
• Develop and implement curriculum for the Quad-Council Retreat, Greek Leadership Summit, Chapter Officer Training, Future Greek Leaders Retreat, and Advisor's Retreat
• Attend organization meetings, council meetings, and programs on campus to strengthen connection with students
• Serve on and chair select university teams 
• Assist with Division of Student Life and leadership & engagement staff initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience: 5 years of related professional work experience (Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of full-time experience; 2 years as graduate assistant/intern is equal to 1 year of full-time experience)
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong interpersonal, communication (oral/written), listening, and student advocacy skills; Ability to work/collaborate with internal and external constituents, and foster positive and productive relationships; Ability to make sound decisions. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Business, Educational Psychology, Curriculum Design, Education or related field; Certified as a Clifton Strengths Coach/Trainer
• Experience: Demonstrated commitment to the educational and holistic development of students; Experience in a higher education environment; Experience with design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum & training, especially for the sorority and fraternity community
• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of NASPA/ACPA/AFA Professional Competency Areas for Student Affairs Educators; Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and privileged information and stay abreast of regulations regarding student privacy and information sharing; Knowledge of CAS Standards for Fraternity & Sorority Advising Programs; Knowledge of assessment tools; Ability to collaborate with stakeholders on campus and in community.
