The Manufacturing Operations in Wilton Connecticut is responsible for the production of subassemblies for lithography tools as well as purchasing and logistics. The complete production process of the most advanced machines takes place within Manufacturing.

This position is based in the EUV Group within the manufacturing sector in Wilton, Connecticut.

To realize 'World Class' support to Manufacturing in order to ensure highest product quality, short lead-times and 'short time-to-market' by continuous improvement of ASML's new and existing products and processes.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

  • Ramp production into volume in an existing “Concurrent Engineering” environment.

  • Upgrade and improve production tooling & qualification test.

  • Generate and update technical work instructions.

  • Support in-production issues by assisting Production Assembly and Test Engineers and Technicians with concise troubleshooting of the Opto-Mechanical systems and sub systems.

  • Enhance working knowledge of interferometry (PMI), geometric optics, wave optics, and aberration theory

  • Develop Working knowledge of 4D and Matlab

  • Working knowledge of best practices for opto-mechanical design and testing

  • Familiarity of interferometric measurement process and data analysis

  • Evaluate and disposition failed parts with proposed solutions.

  • Time allocation:

  • 25% in Cleanroom assisting with part and process issues

  • 40% Spent with Manufacturing Engineering on process improvements and results

  • 15% Spent with Design Engineering on improvements to existing design

  • 10% Spent documenting changes to Work Instructions

  • 10% Spent in meetings

Education and experience

  • Bachelor of Science in an optical discipline, or Physics, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience and desire to work in a manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of interferometry (PMI), geometric optics, wave optics, and aberration theory preferred

  • Working knowledge of Matlab highly preferred

  • Working knowledge of Interferogram software (i.e. 4D) highly preferred

  • Working knowledge of best practices for opto-mechanical design and testing

  • Familiarity of interferometric measurement process and data analysis

  • Able to read and understand optical and mechanical drawings

  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments and Statistical Methods

  • Working knowledge of Unigraphics and SAP a plus
