Job Description
We are currently looking for a Manager, Consolidations to join our growing Finance team!
In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, Consolidations. As Manager, Consolidations, you will lead the implementation of processes, policies, and procedures ensuring the accuracy of the consolidated financial statements and intercompany eliminations. You will play a major part in the financial month-end closing and reporting process by managing complex journal entries for the company. The successful candidate will partner with key business stakeholders and business finance partners to provide accounting guidance for complex accounting issues and to ensure adherence to applicable guidance, policies and processes. You will need to have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and will need to be a leader that can motivate and develop the staff.
As Manager, Consolidations, your duties will include:
- Assists in managing the monthly, quarterly and yearly close process
- Manage the consolidation process over all legal entities, including intercompany eliminations and adjustments
- Manage the monthly allocations process over revenue, cost of service, and SG&A expenses
- Maintain SAP statistical key figures (SKFs) and allocation models based on defined business rules
- Provide governance over the Accounting team’s month end close checklist to ensure all recurring activities are complete
- Provide governance over the Accounting team’s balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring all reconciliations are completed timely and adhere to quality control criteria
- Prepare the consolidated flux analysis for the balance sheet and income statement
- Manage preparation and review of analysis and journal entries for Consolidated Financial Statements
- Prepare journal entries and financial statements for all unconsolidated legal entities
- Support the preparation and review of materials for month end financial reviews and other external communications
- Research, document, and communicate complex accounting issues
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by other team members as well as prepare journal entries for more complex accounting matters, including but not limited to Pension/OPEB, Loss Reserves, Equity Compensation, etc.
- Prepare/review various balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring proper supporting documentation
- Liaise with teams across multiple departments and locations to obtain and distribute financial information
- Participate in the development of financial reporting packages, including preparation and/or review of financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules
- Assists in managing external and internal audit activities as necessary
- Review and enhance analysis and analytical processes and controls
- Prioritize and review staff activities to ensure appropriate work quality and staff productivity
- Manage performance and ensure ongoing development of staff
- Ensure effective working relationships with key business partners
- Perform special projects and any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in Consolidations/Intercompany accounting
- 2+ years of experience leading teams of direct reports in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience organizing a large volume of information and identifying and deploying automation tools/solutions
- Proficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages.
- Clear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience
- Complete ownership and accountability of the function given the deadline-oriented nature of the position
- Adaptable to changing business environment and organizational structure
