Description

Job Summary

The position supports the Quality Coordinator and the Quality Assurance Department in inspecting products prior to the products shipping to the end customer. Follows all company polices, manufacturing records, calibration standards and SOP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dimensional measurement of extruded tubing
  • Visual inspection of extruded tubing
  • Perform calibrations
  • Initiation of proposed specifications or revision of existing specifications
  • Tubing collections
  • In-process measurements
  • Packaging and labelling
  • Development and testing
  • Creating Development History Records
  • In-coming inspections of raw resins materials
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 2 year college degree or vocational or technical school graduate
  • Previous work experience in extrusion or other plastic processing, in addition to work with Quality Control and Quality Assurance Departments
  • Previous work experience with Medical Device manufacturer or component manufacturer. Previous work experience with ISO 9000 company
  • Other applicable training, experience or innate ability
  • Able to use pin gauges, micrometer, wall micrometer, measuring microscopes, caliper gage, tensile tester, laser, metal scale and calculator.
  • Able to interface on a technical level with all levels of personnel
  • Able to maintain accurate technical records.
  • Able to develop written specifications, rather that simply follow established specifications.  Legible handwriting.
  • Able to use MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook along with various office equipment.

 

Physical Demands

  • Able to perform repetitive tasks for a minimum of 8 hours each work day.
  • Continual lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Sit, stand and viewing computer screens for extended periods of time.
  • Good vision and have the ability to distinguish colors and able to wear eye protection

 

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing, warehouse and clean room environments.
  • Exposure to noise is present, hearing protection is available
  • Safety glasses are required on the manufacturing floor.
