Principal Financial Analyst – US Selling, Cardiology Group
About the Role:
At Boston Scientific, the Principal Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the US Selling function. This highly visible position will also serve as the lead on consolidating total Cardiology Group results, and will work directly with Sales, Divisional, and Finance leadership on a consistent basis. The position requires an outgoing, confidant candidate that can work independently, while building strong relationships with business partners to optimize financial planning, reporting, and analysis. Gathers and publishes financial information related to historical, current, and future performance for management reporting. Performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and recommends appropriate courses of action. Responsibilities also include facilitating month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation and analysis.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Partner independently with the Selling organization and the Division Finance leaders.
- Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended, and current business information.
- Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.
- Prepare and distribute financial metric packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
- Present to upper management & business partners and provide guidance on variances and trends.
- Perform financial analysis and recommend alternative courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools and creative problem solving.
- Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
- Develop and utilize sound financial processes and maintain effective control environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA a plus.
- 8+ years’ progressive financial analyst experience in a similar role.
- Excellent technical skills (modeling, macros, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Hyperion, preferably SAP and VBA)
- Strong financial analysis, communication, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Experience with journal entries and month end close with accounting.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adhere to tight deadlines, attention to detail.
- Must have highly developed customer relationship skills with strong service orientation.
- Holds self-accountable to a performance metric culture building performance excellence.
- Team orientated.
