About the Role
The Senior Associate - Accounting Products will report directly to the Accounting Product & Enablement Manager and support Debtbook’s development of Accounting compliance products through becoming familiar with the application and collaborating with others to mold new features. You will be involved in defining all aspects of accounting functionality, from technical accounting analysis for new features to front-end product design. You will participate in ensuring the quality of all Debt accounting features provided within Debtbook’s cloud-based software application.
What You’ll Do
- Document technical requirements and analysis to support Debtbook’s ongoing development of accounting features
- Obtain expert-level knowledge of applicable accounting standards, independently managing research for Debt Accounting topics to define new features to enhance the software’s user experience
- Create and execute testing plans to verify functionality and accounting accuracy for new features, investigating identified defects and/or discrepancies of varying complexity to initiate the proper remediation steps
- Represent Debt accounting and product-related subject matter in full context when interacting with team members, internal audiences and external clients
What You Bring
- 2 years of public accounting experience
- Exceptional communication, organization and analytical skills
- Willingness to collaborate with other team members to achieve shared objectives
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Bonus points for:
- CPA license
- Debt accounting experience
- Familiarity with governmental or non-profit accounting standards
- Familiarity with Software Development process and related workflow tools (i.e. Jira/Gitlab)
- Experience with VBA or Python
