327 - STEM Internship Program (Summer 2024)

Next Phase Solutions and Services, Inc. is excited to offer a STEM Internship Program for Summer 2024. This program is designed to provide a hands-on learning experience and exposure to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Depending on your interests and skills, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced professionals and gain practical skills to help you build a strong foundation for your future career in STEM. You will be involved in projects that range from software development to data analysis.

(Notice of Duration for Internship Program || Summer 2024: 10 weeks - beginning in June and ending in August)- Up to 32 hours per week.)

Responsibilities

• Assist in software development projects under the guidance of experienced professionals.
• Work on data analysis tasks, including data cleaning, visualization, and interpretation.
• Collaborate with teams on various STEM-related projects.
• Apply coding skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Participate in work sessions to enhance your STEM skills.
• Present findings and project outcomes to the team.

Requirements

• Strong interest in STEM fields.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Must live within a commuting distance and have reliable transportation to the internship program location in Columbia, Maryland.
• This is not a 100% remote opportunity.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Columbia, Maryland.

Education/Experience:

• Must be currently enrolled in high school and at least 17 years of age
• Prior summer STEM or related internship experience in a professional IT or other business office environment is required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
• Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear manner and excellent word enunciation skills, are required
