Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Assists in the delivery of primary health and patient care management in an outpatient setting. Assists with training, clinical evaluation, and competency review of clinical employees.


  

DUTIES PERFORMED: (This list may not include all the duties assigned)

  • Review and monitor workflows in the clinic and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate staff levels for the clinic. This includes interviewing and selecting clinical staff. Work with Human Resources during the interview process. Main point of contact for staffing agencies and schools for clinic staff.
  • Maintain policy and procedure manual. Create and/or adjust policies related to the clinic. Communicate changes to staff and train as needed.
  • Responsible for organizing the Medical Assistant preceptor rotation and sign off process. Will conduct the final meeting (6 weeks) with the new hire prior to the sign off being completed. 
  • Collaborate with Medical Assistant Team Leader to train clinic staff. Maintains clinic staff modules via the Learning Management System. Assess needs and create training modules for clinic staff.
  • Assist with clinic schedule. Review schedule and approve before posting. 
  • Organize staff and preceptor meetings. 
  • Participates in the performance review process for clinic staff. Will collaborate with Medical Assistant Team Leader to complete performance reviews.
  • Participates in regular meetings with EMR vendor.
  • Perform staff education and competency assessments. Plan and organize annual competency check-off program. Create educational material for the assessments. 
  • Addresses other administrative duties, to include patient complaints, employee counseling, and administering corrective actions. 
  • Occasionally assist with items related to patient care to maintain workflows in the clinic.
  • Assists in professional development activities, including CPR training, and maintains professional affiliations. Maintain RN license and CPR Instructor certification.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree in nursing
  • Registered Nurse
  • Minimum three years of nursing experience
  • Minimum two years training and educating clinical staff
