We are searching for a talented, motivated Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of our FirstLight LiDAR and Aurora Driver sensors.
In this role, you will
- Collaborate closely with the Lidar Development team to transfer new technology to systems engineering development
- Define requirements for sensor system components and subsystems
- Manage requirement traceability and decomposition
- Manage requirements change control, change propagation, and releases
- Define sensor concept of operations and develop validation plans
- Develop verification plans that cover sensor system requirements over automotive environments
- Write test procedures that test engineering will execute
- Track requirement closure, regression tests, test failures, and waivers
- Collaborate closely with cross functional sensor team members in design, test, embedded, safety and reliability teams to ensure successful productization of overall product architecture
- Prepare and present technical reports for management
Required Qualifications
- MS in Optics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years of industry experience in systems engineering
- 4+ years of industry experience in system test planning and execution (verification and validation)
- Must be able to initiate conversations with local and remote teams and quickly drive progress
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong organizational abilities to drive and manage requirements end to end
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Automotive or Aerospace systems experience
- Prior experience with relevant systems such as photonics
- Familiarity with end-to-end product development of directly relevant systems
- Experience with requirements databases (such as JAMA or DOORS)
- Experience in github on linux-based platform
The base salary range for this position is $181,000 -$290,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
