Position Title: Senior Production Supervisor   

Reports to: Senior Production Manager 

Location: Zeeland, MI

SUMMARY: 

As a Senior Production Manager at out Zeeland, MI plant, you can expect your day to day to include maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by overseeing our production processes and ensuring they meet the highest industry standards. RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist in controlling expenses 

  • Provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements 

  • Interpret and enforce company policies 

  • Maintain non- union program 

  • Assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately 

  • Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up 

  • Work with department heads to meet production quality yields goals and metrics goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product 

  • Inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping safety sanitation security and food safety 

  • Manage evaluate and train production supervisors 

  • Oversee all designated shift operations and any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the plant manager 

  

REQUIREMENTS: 

Education: High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred. 

Experience:

5 plus years of related industry or supervisory experience in a food manufacturing facility experience required.

Inventory/ System management experience preferred.

Experience with SAP preferred. and knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations. 

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members, from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials. 

Special Skills: Leader, problem solver, team player. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws; interview, hire and train team members; plan, assign and direct work; monitor and appraise work performance; reward, coach counsel, and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems. 

Travel: 0-20 trips year or as required
