Nexans AmerCable is an ISO 9001-certified manufacturer of jacketed electrical power, control and instrumentation cables. The company's core markets, mining, oil and gas, and industrial, require complex cable designs that can operate reliably over long periods of time in harsh operating environments. At this time, we are looking for a Lead Extruder Operator to join our Nexans AmerCable Team.

Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for machine set up and tear down.
• Manage the collection of data and run recordings during machine operation.
• Is in charge of making and verifying cable marking tape per order specifications.
• Overlook the cable during operation.
• Assist the Lead Stripper and Tuber Operator as needed
• Monitor and improve Product quality
• Monitor and improve operator/machine efficiency
• Operate the machine according to machine work instructions/SOP
• Produce product “on time” per current work schedule

 

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
• Must be able to physically move material, possibly up to 50 lbs. 
• Good reading comprehension and basic math skills are required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays. 
• Must have basic mechanical abilities.
• Must take, calculate and record readings with callipers, micrometres and diameter tapes.
• Must be able to operate the lead extruder and work station computer. 
• Required training includes ISO 9000 principles
