The Chegg Skills Data Science & Analytics team comprises data scientists and business analysts. The team uses data to influence decision-making and strategy – helping advance a data-driven culture. The team works closely with stakeholders across many functions (including product, engineering, marketing, finance, and business leaders) and provides a full range of data and analytical services (including metric design, dashboarding, forecasts, data mining, feature engineering, statistical modeling for predictive and prescriptive models). Core to our team mission is partnering with the business to use data to make better decisions – communicating insights that matter about the things that matter to our partners.
The Role: Senior Data Analyst
We are looking to hire a Senior Analyst for our Data Analytics team to support our stakeholders in multiple verticals. To be successful you will need to know how to leverage data and analytics to help us manage and grow our business and provide support to our students. We expect you to be a self-starter and eager to apply your capabilities by quickly leveraging data to find root causes and actionable solutions. You should be able to partner directly with key stakeholders to guide key initiatives through proper application of data. Provide recommendations and guidance to junior members of the team.
Role and Responsibilities
We're looking for highly motivated data scientists and analysts to join our team to work with data in the online education space
Work closely with others on the Data Science & Analytics team and provide guidance in technical matters and best practices
Own analysis, recommendations, and measurements of stakeholder’s key initiatives
Run adequate discovery with business stakeholders to understand core business needs, and identify/execute on applicable data driven solutions
Leverage cross functional partners (Data Eng, Product, Engineering) to ensure timely completion of complicated project
Identify potential data sources, conduct exploratory data analyses, and then make data-driven recommendations
Help define, measure, monitor, and interpret business metrics in a way to drive decision-making
Identify key drivers in the business and support goal-setting processes by uncovering trends and trajectories
When appropriate, utilize advanced modeling techniques to identify clusters and trends and to build predictive models and forecasts to improve business performance
Help drive a culture of self-service by building data products and teaching partners to use them and think like an analyst
Requirements:
Quantitative background (science, computer science, statistics, engineering, economics, mathematic)
A strong interest in using data mining and statistical models to understand user needs, drive business metrics, and improve product efficiencies
Strong data-wrangling skills and experience
