Job Description Summary:

Under the guidance of the Neurodiagnostic II and the supervision of the Manager, the Neurodiagnostic Technician performs one or more of several Neurodiagnostic tests. These tests include: EEG; Evoked Potentials; Sleep Studies; Intraoperative Monitoring; Transcranial Doppler.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Procedural Responsibilities Perform at least one or more e types of routine inpatient and outpatient Neurodiagnostic studies according to ASET American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist s and/or department standards. These tests include EEG monitoring, Cerebral Death, Evoked Potentials, Intraoperative Monitoring, Transcranial Doppler, Polysomnography, MSLT, and Nerve Conduction Studies. Recognizes nonroutine and/or critical situations and responds appropriately. Practices safety standards as defined by hospital and department policy. Maintains CPR licensure. Maintains OSHA regulations. Responsibilities are cross campus.

Technical and Departmental Support Evaluates and calibrates all equipment according to standards. Maintains equipment in good working order. Responsible for coordinating transport of equipment cross campus as necessary. Completed test logging, billing, and statistics in a timely manner. Answers phone, handle customer concerns and schedules tests appropriately. Participates in Quality Improvement efforts. Maintains work area in orderly and organized fashion. Uses resources in a cost effective way which maintains quality care.

Professional Development Attends consulting education sessions and conferences as required to prepare for registration and to stay current with technological advances, as well as those related to care of the patient population served. Is self directed in identifying learning needs and pursuing opportunities which then serve to meet those needs. Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED (Required)

Additional Job Description:

One to three months related Experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of and Experience . Formal classroom in Neurodiagnostic testing. Requirements Employee will be required to sit for and pass both Part I and Part 2 of the ABRET registration examination. Upon hire, Associate's have three years to complete their and obtain their Certification . Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic technology program or equivalent formal training. Eligible for part I of the ABRET registration. One or more years of clinical Experience in Neurodiagnostic testing.
