Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has several openings for Sr. Principal Chief Engineers-Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads that are ready to work across functions to help drive hardware movement in the factory/test, document issues, drive improvement plans, and support ramp up to meet throughput requirements. These positions are located in Linthicum, MD.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility.
  • Interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.  
  • Brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.
  • Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. 
  • The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

 Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline with 8 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 6 years industry experience (with a BS in STEM)
  • Active Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and obtain a SAP clearance for continued employment.
  • General Knowledge of RF hardware design and manufacturing
  • 1-year minimum as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or equivalent where responsibilities included: project planning, cost & schedule management including tracking, team tasking / leadership, and status reporting.
  • 1-year minimum working experience with knowledge of Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience moving hardware through the BWI factory and test cell(s)
  • Experience with REX (receiver/exciter) or general RF Integration and test for hardware
  • Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and customers
  • Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience driving recovery through development and execution of return to green plans
  • Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process
  • Knowledge of Risk and Opportunity management
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus

    Primary Level Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
