Assoc Scientist/Senior Assoc Scientist – Protein Analytics

Seismic Therapeutic, a biotechnology startup focused on the intersection of structure, protein engineering, machine learning and immunology, is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Scientist to help drive novel immunotherapy programs. The successful candidate will play a significant part on our drug discovery and development efforts by expressing, purifying, and characterizing therapeutic molecules.

Responsibilities:

• Express and purify therapeutic molecules across multiple scales from bacterial and mammalian systems.
• Support analysis of proteins to determine biochemical and biophysical characteristics such as purity, homogeneity, size, and stability.
• Engage and collaborate with cross functional teams to effectively investigate therapeutic candidate molecules
• Carefully document research and effectively communicate results to relevant members of the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in biochemistry/biophysics, biological/chemical engineering or a related discipline with 2+ years of experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical industry setting.
• Experience with protein expression, purification, and characterization using analytical methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, HPLC, and ELISA.
• Experience in biochemical and biophysical techniques such as SPR, BLI, DSF, or DLS is a plus.
• Experience with multispecific antibodies, fusion proteins, and other non-traditional antibody formats is a plus.
