This position is located onsite in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform as a contributor with knowledge and experience in supporting LANs, WANs, communications (VTC and VOIP), VPN, Remote Access and related software/hardware within a multiple classification and multi-platform operating environment.
Responsible for the integration of a network including assisting in the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network.
Current on most technological developments and applications and helps to evaluate vendor products to make recommendations for purchase.
Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and support firewalls, routers, switches, proxies, VPN, DNS, email, and SD-WAN and cloud routing to include Cisco CSRs;
Optimize network performance to achieve the desired QoS and KPIs/Service Levels;
Proactively identify issues, monitor capacity / demand and recommend potential solutions
Monitor and trace network traffic across multiple boundaries to resolve faults;
Develop and implement network upgrades, change requests for firewalls, firewall policies, routing, switching, proxy services, VPN, remote access, DNS, mail, SD-WAN and public cloud service deployments (AWS and Azure).
Responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, and addressing interoperability issues for all features, components, and application dependencies. To include switches, firewalls, load balancers, software defined networking, private cloud requirements, etc.
Create and maintain secure device configuration baselines;
Support incident response and project implementation with internal and external teams and third-party vendors;
Troubleshoot and fix any network device issue as well as support upgrades and/or net new network device or tooling implementations.
Provide after hours support as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of IT experience with 4+ years as a network engineer/ administrator experience
Demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting
