Job Title:  A&R Manager, Warner Music Latina

A little bit about our team:

Warner Music Latina’s A&R department is responsible for all aspects of the creative artistic process, including talent discovery, artist signing, oversight of artist’s recording, acquisition of material, choice of production partner, engineering and musicians for sessions.  A&R is truly the creative nerve center and quality control for the identity of the label.

Your role:

Reporting directly to the SVP of A&R, WM Latina,  an A&R Manager will help to deliver records across Warner Music Latin’s roster, while re-establishing a renowned label as the leading destination for the greatest artists of our times.

Here you’ll get to:

• Recruit and sign new artists for Warner Music Latin’s roster. Artists identified for signing should be targeted based on research, analytics, and market data.
• Lead the deal-making process and have highly developed negotiation skills to ensure we are competitive and adaptable across US Latin.
• Utilize and have a deep comprehension of data and research tools, including Sodatone.
• Stay current on new trends, artists, producers, and talent within the music industry by networking and maintain strong relationships with professionals in the business.
• Create and implement creative strategies of our artists and roster.
• Collaborate with the Marketing to determine the release schedule strategy.
• Manage recording and travel budgets relating to A&R.
• Oversee the logistics for artist video shoots, recording sessions, and production.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms where music development and discovery occur.
• Coordinate and attend all regular A&R, scheduling, promotions, marketing, and creative meetings to ensure strong communication with entire regional team.
• Meet and correspond with existing artists, producers, and establish a trusted relationship with them
• Maintain a professional, consistent, and ethical style of operation, managing with integrity within our company, the creative community and with our artists
• Oversee creation of music and delivery of final product
• Have extensive knowledge of the independent distribution business model, competition, and overall landscape
• Maintain strong relationships with managers, agents, promoters, and commercial partners to stay in the loop on new and emerging artists
• Assist operations in securing lyrics, writer splits, musician credits and all other necessary label copy
• Collaborate with Legal to ensure that any content captured that we will own has an agreement in place.
• Maintain an A&R tracking and deal grid to ensure urgency in the courting and signing process and for tracking / reevaluating competitive deals

About you:

• Must have ‘ears,’ know what a hit is and how to create it. 
• Must be able to interact with the A&R team across Latam region and globally, and understand how to engage the creative community and maximize relationships.
• Well organized and have a good memory of music.  Constant research and educating oneself to new producers, writers, artists, etc.
• B.S. from a 4-year University of College
