We are currently looking for a Design Engineering Technician to join our team in Holland, MI.

Job Overview

The Design Engineering Technician in the Tailored Solutions department plays a key role in delivering creative, high quality solutions that meet customer needs in a fast-paced, environment. This position applies engineering knowledge and technical skills to support product design and production processes, including equipment design, testing, and troubleshooting. The role involves close collaboration with team members and business partners to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing operations, driving innovation and excellence throughout the development cycle.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create engineering drawings and documentation for simple designs and modifications, utilizing CAD software
  • Assist with engineering layouts for small projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications
  • Prepare engineering documentation, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Material (BOMs), and parts lists
  • Assemble prototypes and test products, utilizing hand and power tools
  • Support product development activities by gathering information, conducting research, and assisting with testing
  • Apply basic engineering principles to solve routine design problems
  • Communicate technical information effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School or equivalent
  • Work Experience: 1 year of hands-on experience in a technical or engineering support role
  • Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military
  • Ability to travel between 5%-10% of the time (mostly in Michigan)
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross functional teams.
  • Relevant certification or vocational training 
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of tracking multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced environment, with the ability to adjust to changing requirements.
  • Ability to assess risks and make informed decisions to maintain project integrity and timelines.
