Summary/objective

The Manufacturing Production Supervisor is a key member of the Corporate Manufacturing Team responsible for exercising independent judgment and discretion in managing the production lines for which he or she is charged with, and in supervising the employees working on those production lines or otherwise under his or her supervision.

- Direct the work of employees assigning tasks and positions as necessary.
- Ensure that the employees perform their jobs properly and as safely as possible.
- Evaluate employees and provide input as to whether they should be retained in or advanced from the labor pool or production positions or should be removed from positions to which they had been promoted.
- Correct employees as necessary, initiate discipline, initiate work performance and conduct-related corrective actions and recommend suspensions and terminations as necessary.
- Deal with employee concerns and complaints and refer them to upper management or other resources when appropriate.
- Assure that the attire of the employees is in line with company policy.
- Gather information before the start of the shift from the previous shift supervisors and plant superintendent on production schedule status and if there are any raw material or machine issues/problems as well as communicate such information to the incoming supervisors and plant superintendent of the next shift.
- Check emails at the beginning and end of every shift.
