The Co-Chief Inspector is responsible to the Quality Manager and will share responsibility for the overall operation of the Quality Management System and oversite of all return to service processes.

Working with the current Chief Inspector to:

  • Direct, plan and lay out procedures used by the repair station in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Manufactures specifications and recommendations for engine / engine component and airframe maintenance.

  • Responsible for performing a variety of duties in supporting & implementing the Pratt & Whitney Engine Services Internal Quality Management System.

  • Ensure compliance to FAA regulations, ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100 / AS9110 (as revised) requirements.

  • Provide oversight of the following PWES Processes/Policies:

  • Inspection

  • Calibration

  • Shelf life

  • Unserviceable

  • Technical data External (OEM Tech Data)

  • Technical data (Internal check list & forms)

  • Create, Update and Maintain all regulatory documentation.

Other duties as required

  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% and work extended hours. 

  • FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program – This position is covered under the PWES FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program. The selected candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment FAA drug screen

  • Vision Program - This position is covered under the PWES Vision program, and the selected candidate will be a participant in this program.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS Degree (or other 2 year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of prior inspection experience complying with Federal Aviation Regulations or in lieu of no degree a minimum of 8 years of prior inspection experience complying with Federal Aviation Regulations

  • Valid A&P License

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth working knowledge with the Federal Aviation Administration regulations

  • Working Knowledge of technical Documentation/ standards

  • Familiar with engine assembly and disassembly process

  • Familiar with inspection and measurement equipment

  • Previous experience as a Quality professional

  • 2 years’ experience with return to service functions

  • Certificated in ACE, CORE or 6 Sigma

  • Internal/ External Auditor experience/ Experience as a Lead Auditor

  • Training / working knowledge of AS9100 / AS9110

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
