Emergency Department Patient Concierge

Under supervision this position focuses on patient relations activity including patient complaint management, proactive patient relations (patient and staff rounding, concierge services, service recovery, and service-related staff education and support on goals, outcomes, and key processes and best practices. 

In this role, the successful caregiver will be:

• Supporting patients, families and staff by providing comfort, empathy and resources to enhance ED experience
• Rounding on patients throughout the ED while waiting to be seen, already being triaged and or waiting to be admitted to the hospital
• Facilitating communications between caregivers and ED guests when appropriate.  Continually providing patients and guests with updated information regarding their current status with the ED from registration to discharge or hospital admission
• Providing non-clinical services including care and comfort touches (e.g., offering warm blankets and pillows) and providing advocacy by tapping into existing Providence Health resources (e.g., phone charger access, social work team members, chaplain access, etc.).

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience
• 3 years of Progressive experience in customer service or relationship management, preferably in a health care environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Clinical licensure and/or experience upon hire
• Bilingual in English-Spanish
• Conflict resolution experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
