POSITION SUMMARY:  

This position is responsible for supporting the MPLX G&P Bluestone processing facility and associated compressor stations in Evans City, PA.  This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. The actual position location, title, and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Provides technical support for routine operations, project work, major maintenance or construction support, and emergency response to ensure worker safety throughout the planning and execution phases of work.

2. Supports development, maintenance, and execution of safety programs for implementation in the field to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and conformance to MPC corporate standards.

3. Conducts auditing on safety programs to verify compliance and conformance with regulatory and MPC standards. This includes analyzing safety performance data to identify and report trends, along with proposing recommendations to address areas of concern.

4. Leads and supports investigations into near-misses, incidents, and injuries to identify root causes and recommendations to prevent future incidents. Tracks recommendations to implementation to ensure completion.

5. Develops and presents training material related to a variety of safety topics in collaboration with Operations and Learning Development departments.

6. Provides subject matter expertise for assigned programs, which may include providing input as a competent person for fall protection and excavation safety, support during Life Critical work and input on other regulatory programs.

7. Develops safety related communications for inclusion into shift starter meetings, safety meetings, notices, and bulletins.

8. Maintains sufficient professional expertise and proficiency in discipline to achieve Company expectations and perform technical assignments.

9. Must be able to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential and privileged information.

10. Must be a self-starter who communicates well with plant personnel, management, public, regulatory agencies, and customers.

11. Provide assistance to other facilities / areas when needed

12. This position has high visibility at this location.  Individual must possess excellent leadership type qualities and a previous track record of safety success.

13. There are no direct reports for this position, however, this individual is responsible for overseeing all safety, health and security elements of the facility and its employees including construction project work.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

·         Bachelor’s degree in safety field from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. 

·         Current safety related certifications are a plus.

·         Must hold a valid driver's license with excellent driving record.

·         Must be able to pass drug test and background check.

·         Travel expectations: 25%
