About the role

General Summary
The Electrical Maintenance Project Manager is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems at LAIKA owned and leased properties.  

Job Functions 

  • Install and repair batteries, electrical motors, pumps, drives, and other connected electrical devices.
  • Determine where equipment will be placed by studying blueprints and specifications. Assist with troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of building HVAC systems.
  • Install and service main service disconnects and panels including circuit breakers and switching gear; make all necessary terminations, operate and test electrical generator, transfer switches and Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS).
  • Install metal conduit systems following industry standards to meet NEC and current Oregon Electrical Specialty Code requirements.  
  • Install low voltage raceways and pull wire for low voltage systems including phone, data, cable, and/or camera systems.
  • Study technical manuals describing the functioning of each piece of equipment in order to determine the proper connection and operating voltages and supply the required and suggested safety services.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide reports of work performed to document system design and any changes for future work and service; trouble shoots and repairs all electrical systems and oversees stage electrical work.
  • Perform other building and property maintenance duties as needed, including but not limited to assisting other departments.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and perform assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain Electrical Master Permit program including required inspections. 

Qualifications 

  • 5 years of experience with installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Current Oregon General Supervisor Electrician license required.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with proven project management skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in elevated work areas and electrical hazards.
  • Perform required training to maintain electrical license.
  • Ability to obtain certification to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift.

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to operate standard office equipment; climb ladders; work from typical warehouse heights; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear both in person and by telephone. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works under typical office conditions and is exposed to variable indoor temperatures. The noise level is usually quiet or moderate.  Occasional outdoor work may be necessary.

Salary 
Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
