The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training.
As a Social Worker you will:
• Initiate and implement complete, comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapies to clients and their families.
• Participate in and interdisciplinary treatment team to propose and develop strategies and interventions that would promote excellent therapeutic outcomes.
• Assess and intervene in cases of suspected/disclosed child/adult neglect/abuse issues. Document services provided and disseminate information/reports to community referral sources and agencies, i.e., DJJ, DSS, HHS, APS, CPS, LCC, etc.
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, referral sources, and community resources aftercare and supportive services to ensure a successful discharge planning process. Promote positive patient-family-community relations.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to diffuse psychotic and/or behavioral crises to ensure client, unit, and staff safety and stability.
• Joins the therapeutic preschool classroom daily to implement psychotherapeutic services to promote the socio-emotional growth of the children.
• Supports children in the classroom who may be in crisis. If a child is a danger to self or others, must be able to physically manage students in CPI Children's Control Position.
• Maintains clinical charts, and progress notes in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Implements clinical policies and procedures for service delivery in the TNP including treatment plans and updates, monthly notes, case management, implementation of the therapeutic interventions, and record keeping.
• Maintains a therapeutic rapport with families, including individual monthly check-ins and the monthly Caregiver Coffee group to provide psychoeducation and support to TNP parents and guardians.
• Prepares and conducts weekly social-emotional group lessons for TNP children and in collaboration with the team regarding integrating lessons and topics throughout the day and week.
• Participates in training of student interns and trainees during their rotation in the TNP through facilitating weekly group supervision and supporting their learning in the classroom.
• Participates in weekly team, reflective supervision meetings, and interdisciplinary team meetings to assess the progress of TNP children, formulate treatment goals, and develop ongoing treatment strategies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.

• Ability to Address and Prioritize Multiple Task Demands Within Established Time Frames Required
• Ability to Use PC (Windows, E-Mail, Internet), Telephone, Xerox Machine, Television, and VCR/DVR Required
• Master’s Degree in Social Work /Counseling or equivalent Master’s Degree in a recognized health field
• LGSW/LMSW/LGPC/LGMFT in the State of Maryland
• At least 1 year of post-master's experience in providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy is preferred.
• Experience in working with high-risk families and young children.
