Job Description Market Data Specialist
The Content and Strategic Partnerships group is responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing relationships with market data vendor partners. The group manages FactSet’s data budget and interacts with data vendors. The group implements automated systems and processes to track and monitor all points of contact with data vendors to ensure compliance.
The Market Data Services Specialist acts as a go to person for questions around market data usage, entitlements, data policies and licensing and establishes good working relationships with the FactSet’s data suppliers.
The role will work closely with various internal teams globally, including Sales, Product Management, Legal and Project Development
Key aspect of the role is understanding of data supplier rules and policies and being able to apply them to FactSet solutions and the data entitlement for FactSet’s clients. The role will also need to communicate with stakeholders and support them with market data related questions.
Responsibilities
- Advise customers and internal stakeholders on all kind of questions around data usage, licensing, fees and reporting
- Work with data suppliers worldwide to get clients approved for usage of data within FactSet solutions
- Analyze market data supplier agreements and policies and transition of rules into the FactSet product spectrum
- Ensure compliance with source agreements and regulations and support quality assurance initiatives
- Responsible for compliant set up of clients in FactSet systems and data permissioning
- Support process optimizations and automation initiatives
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Business Law or proven multi-year practical working experience in similar position
- +2 years working experience in a market data related position, in a vendor firm, bank or stock exchange
- Experience with analysis of license agreements or policies is a plus
- Good knowledge of financial markets and financial instruments
- Strong customer orientation and excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to correspond with a diverse group of stakeholders and vendors
- Accurate and correct working style with attention to details
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Dedicated team player and solid presentation skills
- Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically in MS Excel
- Understanding and interest in IT is a plus
- Ability to work independently with high level of commitment and effective time management, also under time constraints
- German is mandatory (or a plus for someone based in London)
