Position: Concessions Supervisor
Department: AVA Concessions
Job Summary: Supervises and oversees the smooth and efficient operation of the concession stands within the AVA Entertainment
Center.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Oversees the daily operation of all AVA concession stand(s).
- Ensures staff’s compliance with all customer service standards/needs.
- Ensures that all food preparation is conducted in accordance with state and local health regulations.
- Resolves guest and team member grievances in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitors job performance (including accountability) of all AVA Food & Beverage employees operating within the concession stand(s).
- Makes suggestions and recommendations for hires, transfers, promotions, and corrective action of all employees or potential employees in a fair and equitable manner.
- Initiates the supervisor’s staffing recommendations for all AVA events.
- Ensures that all safety rules are enforced and adhered to by all team members.
- Conducts pre-shift briefings with team members to address issues from prior events and to present any, and all special instructions for current event(s).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and familiarity with inventory control and scheduling process.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with all food and beverage, health, liquor, and safety regulations per local applicable laws.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to identify and develop short and long-term goals leading to development of procedures to adjust and address current market needs.
- Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to communicate and provide directions in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work in a smoking environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Demonstrated track record of reliability and responsiveness.
- Demonstrated track record of providing quality guest service(s).
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
- Must have or be able to obtain valid Alcohol Awareness and Food Handlers certifications within 90 days of employment.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain a valid non-gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
