Lead Cost Accountant

- Lead the Cycle Count program and supervise a team of up to four hourly employees.
- Prepare and analyze monthly inventory, operating expense variances, and the Cost Accounting Report (CAR).
- Own the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) analysis and handle related reporting.
- Reconcile inventory and perform month-end cost and inventory journal entries.
- Analyze manufacturing costs to establish standard labor and overhead rates annually.
- Partner with operations to resolve work order variances and support continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma).
- Assist internal teams with cost and margin analysis for new products and project planning.
- Own the quarterly Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory model and support audits and annual physical inventory.
- You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization.
- You establish common objectives and a shared mindset.
- You establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results.
- You display a can-do attitude in good and bad times.
- You break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, demonstrating your confirmed educational foundation
- 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
- Willingness to complete Six Sigma Black Belt training within 12 months of start date (company sponsored, on-line, asynchronous)
- Flexibility to work overtime during month-end closing and for other projects as needed
- Ability to provide periodic support and communication during the cycle count team’s second shift
- Master's degree and/or other certifications and credentials
- 1+ years of supervisory experience
