Material Handler

The schedule for this position is Sun - Thurs, 10pm - 6:30am

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a careful forklift operator to move rolls of material around our facility with the goal of ensuring material and products are in the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use a sit-down forklift to transport material
• Effectively communicate with employees to ensure a cohesive, team environment
• Read specifications and schedules to prepare for upcoming jobs
• Assist in conducting minor machine maintenance
• Palletize rolls and wrap material to prepare for shipping
• Tag rolls for identification
• Conduct quality checks on material as required
• Perform general housekeeping of floors, machinery, and other areas as needed
• Must wear safety glasses, safety boots/shoes, and hearing protection

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous forklift certification
• Team player
• Able to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is often required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job, include close vision and good color vision.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee must work near moving mechanical parts.
