Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Staff Research Assistant in our Research department.  

 

This position is part time 20 hours/week, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $24.65 - $34.80/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection, experiments, and maintenance of a woulnd repair and tssue response laboratory.
  • Supportive services to the laboratory including preparation of bacterial cultur media.
  • Routine defrosting of freezers, chemical inventory, other inventory, and preparation of competent cells.
  • Disposal of chemical an biological waste.
  • Preparing figures and data for publication, presentations, and summaries.
  • Review and proof articlesfor [ublication and grant submission.
  • Ordering supplies, assisting with lab organization and maintaining records. 
  • Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities within the department.

Qualifications

Bachelors and/or 1-3 years of research laboratory experience preferred.

Experience wiht immunology and animal handling preferred.
