Summary of Job Duties:

The College Director of Communications and Public Relations will oversee the entire
communications, marketing, and public relations strategies of the law school in accordance with the mission, objectives, directives, and policies of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Writing Journalism, Graphic Design, Print Media, or a related field;

  • At least three years of experience in print journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Experience in a university or non-profit setting and experience with Wordpress and/or content management systems;

  • Excel is preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities                

  • Point of first contact for law school media requests;

  • In collaboration with the Dean and University Communications, develop a marketing and communications strategy that supports the university enrollment, brand, and perception goals. Develop content for and maintain the law school’s website;

  • Develop content for and maintain the law school’s Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts;

  • Design and facilitate the production of print materials, content strategy, writing, signage, and promotional materials;

  • Work collaboratively with the UA Little Rock Office of Communications to design and produce marketing publications;

  • Perform public relations duties to include press releases/media alerts and media training for law school staff in collaboration with the campus;

  • Develop internal communication procedures and policies;

  • Assist in planning, preparation, and implementation of special events, activities, and projects;

  • Follow UA Little Rock deadlines, policies, and procedures;

  • Collaborate with University Communications on advertising messaging and placement for the law school;
