How your role fits into Boldt:
The Estimating & Preconstruction Coordinator will focus on the bid process from the initial request through the completion and delivery of the bid documents. This position will work closely with the Estimating team, Project Executives, Business Development and Marketing to ensure all items in the bid request are completed. In addition, this role will support the preconstruction phase of projects primarily for Design/Build and Lump Sum contracts.

What you get to do:

  • Assist the project team through the bid process to ensure deadlines are met and the final deliverables are in line with the bid request, corporate marketing requirements, and the business development plan for that customer/industry and construction industry standards.
  • Assist Business Development with Prequalification process, including, but not limited to, completing questionnaires, preparation of deliverables, and working with Boldt Corporate to obtain the answers to questions.
  • Organize and complete necessary documents to facilitate Proposal/Pre-Construction Kick Off Meetings.
  • Support developing initial vendor list along with posting and maintaining project documents in the plan room.
  • Support development of proposal and estimate review documents.
  • Support development of vendor bid form and scope of work templates for a project.
  • Support development of Time & Material labor rates for proposals.
  • Connect with vendors and subcontractors during the proposal process to validate if they will be proposing on the project.
  • Support preconstruction design budget management phase of project which includes but not limited to:
    • Maintain division of responsibility and action item log
    • Update preconstruction six week look ahead schedule.
    • Setup document control folder structure for preconstruction team.
    • Collect all contract exhibits.
    • Support document control activities.
    • Support bid package development.
  • Schedule and attend all project team, estimator, operating group and corporate reviews.
    • Support Estimating & Preconstruction leadership in various tasks and assignments. This includes coordinating team events, drafting standard process of work documents per direction of leadership.

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other related degree required. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Construction experience is not required but is preferred.
  • Detail orientation to manage and analyze data and promote complete and accurate work.
  • Applicable mathematical and geometrical knowledge.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons’ ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to optimally communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.
The working condition of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
