About the role

Studios Developer Services is a central team within the Game Content and Studios organization that provides shared solutions that empower our game studios to create and deliver amazing games. Our business units include legendary names like Activision, King, Blizzard, Bethesda, XGS, and Mojang.

We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager with deep security experience to lead central strategic projects as an individual contributor in the Security and Middleware spaces for the GC&S organization.

The candidate will thrive on the challenge of helping deliver multiple AAA games to market in a fast paced and exciting environment. This person will act as a champion for our first party game studios and help drive common solutions to large scale problems. Candidates will have either game platform, game security, or game production experience and must be able to work across organizational boundaries to support the broader Xbox organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead vision and strategy for key cross studio projects
• Collaborate across Xbox Game Studios development teams by influencing partner groups across the organization
• Collaborate with key partners across the larger Xbox/Azure/Windows organizations
• Act as ‘common voice’ for Xbox Game Studios within Microsoft
• Milestone planning, execution, and evaluation
• Proactive risk management and mitigation
• Create, update and present status and information to the Studios and Platform Leadership teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 5+ years gaming or security industry experience.
  • 5+ years experience working with a product team, shipping high quality customer-facing software.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Ability to establish and nurture long-term relationships with partners.
• Experience with process improvement and implementation.
• Communication, presentation skills, and the ability to work through ambiguity.
• Project management leadership experience or production leadership experience with a variety of project management methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Waterfall etc.).
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• PMI(
Project Management Institute)/Six Sigma certified.

 

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
