What can you expect?
As the Senior Technical Advisor, you will work on-site in Anchorage and will provide professional input on construction projects utilizing their knowledge in construction management and federal contract execution. You will have personal initiative and critical thinking skills which are essential to complete job duties with minimal guidance. You must be able to set priorities, take ownership of projects, work efficiently, and provide a consistent level of high quality in a high-pressure environment.
How will you do it?
- Working closely with the Director of Construction, Program Manager, and Project Managers to support planning and execution of construction work to help manage risk.
- Support the development of key project deliverables and achievement of critical project milestones.
- Review project plans, specifications, general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, site logistics and other exhibits to ensure completeness and constructability.
- Provide technical suggestions, alternatives, and recommendations to construction means, methods, and technical approaches that will mitigate risk, and allow for safer higher quality, more efficient execution of work.
- Assist in preparing project estimates and ensure all factors are properly considered, scheduled, priced and included in the estimate.
- Assist in the pricing of change orders or additional work.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project staff.
- Ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
- Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Technical knowledge of various construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of construction, architecture, and building industry standard operating practices/procedures.
- Knowledge of standard construction estimating practices.
- Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Who is Brice Environmental Services looking for?
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ten years of large-scale construction project management experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Federal construction management experience required.
- Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the condition of the Brice Environmental’s Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of remote logistics and construction practices is strongly preferred.
