Description:

Position Purpose: 

Assists members of the surgery team with day-to-day functions of the department. Furnishes sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients.

What you will Do: 

• Cleans and sterilizes equipment, surgical instruments, and rooms.

• Stocks materials, supplies and linen.

• Transports patients

• Provides documentation.

• Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.

Hours/Schedule:  

1.0 FTE; 80 hours per pay period; will be included in “On Call” rotation; typical schedule is 9:00am-5:30pm but can vary.  

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.

• Minimum of six months experience working with surgical instruments and assisting in patient care preferred.

• Basic language, basic math, basic reasoning ability and computer skills. 

• Ability to work with diverse groups of people. 

• Ability to work under pressure and to take direction from others.
