About the role

Full-Time First Shift: Monday – Friday, occasional weekends if needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains sanitation washroom in a hygienic condition, operates all equipment safely and according to established guidelines.
  • Handles and mixes cleaning and sanitizing chemicals as prescribed on manufacturer’s label
  • Cleans and sanitizes greenhouse equipment in a manner that protects against contamination of tomatoes and tomato plants
  • Monitors, collects and reports Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Food Safety, and all other HACCP pre-requisite programs as required
  • Monitors equipment and supplies to properly support the completion of departmental tasks.
  • Trains and supports departmental and non-departmental employees when necessary
  • Performs scheduled cleaning of Greenhouse and common areas.
  • Removes broken glass in accordance with procedure
  • Maintains cut glove inventory daily by sorting and stocking
  • Cleans and drains dumpsters as needed
  • Wears all necessary personal protective equipment required for each task
  • Attend all training requirements:  Food Safety, Sanitation, Health & Safety and ensure that compliance is adhered to always – company policies, rules and regulations.
  • Operate equipment once you have been properly trained:  ex:  floor scrubber, forklift, vacuums, dispensing stations, etc.
  • Teamwork required, follow directions, offer support and make suggestions when necessary.
  • Report any damages or issues immediately so that repairs can be administered (greenhouse, housing units, washroom facilities, etc).
  • Performs other duties as needed

 

Education/Background Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • One-year related work experience required

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, work independently.
  • Understand company specific job-related applications of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Understand job specific applications of GMPs
  • Must be able to work independently and follow instructions as given

Working Conditions:

  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Requires bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, repetitive motion
  • May work near and operate moving equipment
  • Greenhouse and packhouse, where the temperature range between 60 -100°F and background noise approaches 70 dcbs
