Construction Senior Scheduler I - Solar

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler I in our Solar group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Senior Scheduling Engineer will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.

Location: Remote- any home base location in the continental United States; preference given to those that can work hybrid from our MN-HQ or any regional office
Travel: Minimal up to 5%
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities
- Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities
- Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities comply
- Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team
- Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents
- Establish and nurture teamwork environment
- Ensure crews have resources and support
- Provide work direction and performance evaluations
- Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed
- Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities
- Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project site
- Manage open shop and union issues
- Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.
- Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field
- Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience with Asta Power Project, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project (Asta highly preferred)
- Experience as a project engineer is desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback
- Ability to travel may be required based on operating group
- Thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software
- Thorough knowledge of standard construction practices and project sequencing
- Ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving unprecedented problems on complex projects
- Strong plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills
- Basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout
- Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies
- Strong organization and team skills
- Basic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules
- Basic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions
- Results-oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and services
