JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Leonhard Center at Penn State is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist with administrative and marketing tasks in support of our educational and outreach initiatives. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment that supports students, faculty, and community stakeholders.Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emails and inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Provide support for event planning and logistics (e.g., registration, room reservations, supplies)
  • Help create and schedule content for social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X)
  • Design flyers, posters, and email newsletters using Canva or similar tools
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing engagement metrics
  • Take photos and videos at events for promotional use
Qualifications:
  • Must be a current Penn State student (undergraduate or graduate) or eligible for Penn State part-time employment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with social media platforms and digital communication tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools is a plus
  • Experience with website editing or basic HTML is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Interest in marketing, communications, education, outreach, or student services
  • Experience working in a university or nonprofit setting
