Job Description
Laboratory Responsibilities
- Execute all duties pertinent to the Quality Control Microbiology Analyst position with utmost precision and diligence.
- Conduct critical environmental monitoring and compressed gas collection procedures in controlled environments.
- Perform essential collection of water and clean steam samples from manufacturing systems, adhering to strict protocols.
- Manage crucial laboratory support functions and inventory with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain and oversee laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive laboratory investigation reports in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for precise sample and test result tracking.
- Implement and adhere to rigorous scheduling of aforementioned tasks on weekly, monthly, and quarterly bases.
- Demonstrate an unwavering work ethic and ability to meet physical demands, including but not limited to routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs. or more, sustaining extended periods of walking and standing, operating carts and equipment, and performing necessary bending or reaching for supplies.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide critical support and vigilant monitoring of the analytical team's performance.
- Participate in new hire interviews as required, contributing to the selection of highly qualified candidates.
- Facilitate and oversee the comprehensive onboarding process for new employees.
- Actively engage in the training of other employees, ensuring the maintenance of high standards and best practices.
- Conduct thorough peer reviews of data to maintain accuracy and integrity of results.
- Assist in coordinating essential equipment maintenance and calibration procedures.
- Fulfill overtime and weekend schedule requirements as necessitated by operational demands.
Additional Critical Information:
- This position necessitates significant time in cleanrooms with the following non-negotiable restrictions:
- Strict prohibition of cosmetic products (including but not limited to makeup and false lashes) which must be completely removed prior to entry.
- Mandatory maintenance of short, trimmed, and unadorned nails (absolutely no nail polish or adornments permitted).
- Prohibition of jewelry, with exceptions only for medical alert-related items and one smooth ring band.
- Requirement for hair to be neatly secured and fully contained within a hairnet, and all facial hair to be meticulously trimmed and secured within a beard cover.
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate would possess:
- Master's Degree in Life Sciences, or other science-related degree concentration, or equivalent directly related experience
- Microbiology Laboratory experience
- 5 years of experience
- GMP experience
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
