Position Overview and Responsibilities:

This position will conduct studies and evaluations of systems and procedures to assist the Division of Waste Management in operating more efficiently and effectively and to provide program support. Assists in the planning, development and implementation of program reporting and performance tracking functions for the Division’s program areas; including storage tanks, solid, and hazardous waste compliance information; hazardous waste and solid waste permitting; a variety of tanks and solid waste registrations and contaminated site cleanup. Develops and maintains information management tools for conducting program inspections, tracking activity, site, and facility inventories for regulated program interests; tracking of contaminated site cleanup expenditures, progress, and completions; receiving and processing information from delegated local county programs.

  • Provide assistance to Division and District staff to resolve permitting, compliance, and cleanup program related data management and reporting issues. Organizes and develops agendas for training, meetings, and dialogue as necessary to ensure good coordination between Division and the District offices, as well as consistency across the programs.
  • Assists and responds to the public, agency officials, contracted local government personnel, and consultants with inquiries and technical. This includes generating requested reports for the Division, Program area, Districts and Federal entities as well as the public.
  • Works with Division program staff to analyze data management and reporting requirements. Assists in development of database queries and report structures as needed.
  • Assists the Program Areas in the development and maintenance of various management reports regarding performance measures.
  • Works with staff to coordinate the streamlining of the environmental data management process and internal dependencies.
  • Performs Database and Accounts Management, assign roles, create, modify, and terminate waste users accounts for active directory, update or modify distribution lists, exosphere accounts, and oracle applications.
  • Performs Oculus purges and assign Oculus roles. Provide and support Oculus requests for technical assistance which may include administrative functions and document corrections.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating DWM databases.
  • Creates and maintains user and training documentation and data dictionaries.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis principles and procedures and skill with computer programs.
  • Knowledge of writing database queries.
  • Skilled in database management and account management.
  • Skilled in preparing technical reports from computer data.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical data.
  • Ability to create and maintain user documentation/training materials.
  • Ability to facilitate formal meetings, either in person or remotely.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to use personal computers to manage information in an effective manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan and organize a complex workload.
