DOC Program Support Supervisor

40 hours per week

$50,000.00 annual salary

BASIC FUNCTION OF DOC PROGRAM SUPPORT SUPERVISOR:

This position provides direct supervision to a team of residential monitors in addition to case management support functions of the program. Assist the Program Director with the oversight of departmental tasks and goals. This includes, but is not limited to, record keeping, statistical reports, shift coverage, and client care/crisis intervention. 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF DOC PROGRAM SUPPORT SUPERVISOR:

• Maintain a safe, secure and orderly environment at all times (coverage of front door, searching of clients and their belongings. upon entry into Bishop House, answering incoming calls, routine grounds inspection, verifying client appointments).
• Uphold policy to maintain the highest level of cleanliness asked of our clients.
• Train the Lead Monitor, Case Managers, Employment Specialist and assist in the training of new monitors in program procedure and job functions.
• Assist with the scheduling of Residential Monitors to ensure 24/7 coverage at Bishop House.
• Perform intake function to include data entry and train staff in CMS and any other automated data as required.
• Assist case managers with client files as needed.
• Train staff and make sure both staff and client are in compliance with PREA standards.
• Oversee the cleaniness of the building at Bishop House.
• Oversee the distribution and collection of all linens, pillows, and blankets give for client use.
• Account for client morning wake-up, daily chore responsibilities are covered, sign out log is.
• Oversee client departure with proper monitoring of all clients packing their personal belongings and exiting Bishop House in a timely manor making sure beds are stripped and Bishop House property collected.
• Provide assistance with the packing of client belongings when left at Bishop House.
• Make copies of all needed forms for monitors.
• Prepare routine and special reports as required (i.e. behavior, accident, incident and/or injury, residency verification, and donations).
• Provide on-call support as scheduled.
• Serve as the backup to the the Program Manager in all areas.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS OF DOC PROGRAM SUPPORT SUPERVISOR:

Education: 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

Experience: 

CT Department of Corrections, Criminal Justice, or Residential Management experience preferred. 

Job Skills: 

• Bi-lingual preferred 
• Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds
• Ability to deal with difficult or resistant clients 
• Good writing, word processing, and record keeping skills 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Positive attitude
