$2000 Sign-on Bonus + Full Benefits Package

Offering Differentials! Evening Diff: 5pm – 11pm $2.00 per hour Night Diff: 11pm – 6am $3.00 per hour Weekend Diff: 2pm Friday through Sunday at 11:59pm $1.50 per hour 


SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, this position provides quality, professional, nursing care and medical oversight to Residents of the Legacy Campus Assisted Living Communities, inclusive of the AL Cottages, Vista and the Independent Living Community at Chapel Court.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Nursing

  • Conducts initial assessments on Elders preparing to move into the cottages & subsequent assessments as required by regulatory agency.
  • Review MARs monthly, checking to see that it coincides with the physician orders.
  • Routine pick up and deliveries to and from the pharmacy.
  • Dispense PRN medications and injections as ordered.
  • Charting (change of condition, behaviors, follow up on new medications)
  • Prepare papers for Physician visits and observe orders upon return. Assist physicians that make visits at the cottages.
  • Prepare lab requisitions and obtain results of lab after drawn then report to physician.
  • Assess monthly vital signs and weights obtained by C.N.A.
  • Oversees the care of all elders in assigned areas.
  • Assesses elders and administer nursing treatments.
  • Works closely with physicians to determine appropriate care.
  • Responds to and leads emergency situations.
  • Completes medical records on elders.
  • Performs record keeping according to policies developed by St. John’s United in accordance with State and Federal Regulations
  • Assists staff when necessary, may need to work as a C.N.A. 
  • Participates in quality improvement activities related to nursing assessments and resident care.
  • Promotes the Elder’s well-being and satisfaction by supporting elder-centered care while working as a member of the Clinical Support Team.


Direct Care

  • Provides assistance to C.N.A.s and Nurses in resident care.
  • Assists residents with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, etc.
  • Assists residents to walk with or without self-help devices as needed.
  • Assists with the care of the dying resident, maintaining hope, dignity, and love for the resident at all times.


Leadership

  • Rounds as needed per shift in all nursing areas to provide assistance as needed.
  • Supervises staff in assigned areas.
  • Coach, educate, evaluate and discipline assigned employees.
  • Develop referral and support relationships with Elders of all care levels.
  • Supports Cottage Coordinator, Director of Nursing, and Administrator in ensuring appropriate staffing levels and scheduling.
  • Participate in community activities such as serving meals to residents to form relationships with staff and residents and ease burden of front-line staff.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Communication/Reporting

  • Maintains the confidentiality of all elder care information according to the St. John’s Policy on confidentially and Elders Rights


Dining Services

  • Assists in the mealtime process, serving coffee, greeting residents, guests, family members as needed.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure a pleasant atmosphere and timely mealtime for all. 


Safety

  • Obeys safety rules of St. John’s United
  • Identifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazards.
  • Attends Mandatory safety in-services.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics when transferring Elders.
  • Follows established policies and procedures when exposed to blood/body fluids.
  • Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies (i.e. gait belts, mechanical lifts, 
  • personal; protective equipment)
