Job Description

AECOM/Hunt has an opportunity for a Construction Superintendent for our state-of-the-art construction project at the NOLA Convention Center project.  This position will require a General Superintendent with significant leadership experience in a complex renovation project.  

  • Accountable and overall responsibility for on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects. 
  • Leads, directs and manages the entire direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project. 
  • Primary Liaison with client for day to day activities and long term operations. 
  • Communicates and directs through other superintendents changes or modification of jobsite activities within assigned area of operations. 
  • Accountable for compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards. 
  • Primary interface and engagement with Project Executive and manager group to coordinate efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • BS Engineering, Construction Management or related curriculum and 10 years of progressive construction superintendent experience in large construction projects or AA/AS and 12 years of relevant experience or HSD/GED and 14 years of relevant experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Full cycle General Superintendent experience in projects in excess of $100 million.
  • Experience in driving projects to completion in accordance with client specifications and cost/budget. 
  • Experience in delivering project scopes and modeling, emphasizing project optimization and other construction initiatives. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams).
  • Strong leadership experience to manage and lead other Superintendents to meet client expectations.
  • Experience as a Superintendent on a complex renovation project (interiors, MEP, finishes).
  • Commercial construction experience preferable in hospitality, convention center, casino, etc.
  • Experience managing a workforce in the construction of occupied spaces.

  • Valid Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project tasks assignments and scope of work.
