Job Description
Primary Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst in FP&A is responsible for the analysis of proposed capital expenditure budget projects that support the execution of Norfolk Southern’s strategic plan.
Principal Duties:
- Collaborate with teams from Marketing, Transformation, and Finance Divisions to produce economic analyses for capital expenditure projects.
- Drive decision-making across the organization to accomplish corporate goals by communicating model insights to business stakeholders in verbal and written form.
- Conducts research and evaluation of special projects submitted by senior management.
- Develops, implements and maintains personal computer analysis models that assist in the department's evaluation of capital budget proposals and capital spending projections
- Complete financial reviews and communicate results to business partners.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial analyses and processes at NS.
Job-Related Experience:
Minimum Level: 3+ Years
Preferred Level: 5+ Years
Education:
Preferred Level: Master's Degree (MBA, BS)

- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to support the preparation and presentation of written summaries for internal communication
