Position Summary
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Strategic Growth plays a critical leadership role in driving business development and accelerating strategic growth initiatives across Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare’s Psychiatric Network. This position connects clients, families, and providers to appropriate clinical resources across Odyssey’s continuum of care, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional service delivery. The AVP leverages company, market, and facility resources to educate communities, providers, and referral partners about Odyssey’s psychiatric, substance use disorder and eating disorder services. In collaboration with the VP of Strategic Growth and cross-functional leaders in business development, marketing, and operations, the AVP evaluates market trends, sets growth targets, and leads client-service strategies. This role is instrumental in building strategic partnerships, enhancing referral engagement, and removing barriers to access.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Initiates and maintains collaborative professional relationships with the admissions, business development, and outreach teams throughout the Company, along with Odyssey and facility leadership, financial, and clinical leaders.
Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains frequent and close working relationships with families and client seeking treatment, vendors, clinical providers, and referral partners. Promotes and supports national education and other high-level growth initiatives.
Position Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Market Development
- Develops and leads a national growth strategy using facility and market utilization data.
- Prioritizes markets based on demographic, economic, and population trends.
- Collaborates with facility and corporate leadership to define and champion strategic initiatives.
- Account Management & Retention
- Designs and implements retention strategies for key, maintenance, and target accounts.
- Conducts face-to-face meetings with referral sources to understand needs and close new business.
- Identifies and removes barriers to internal and external growth and retention.
- Data-Driven Decision Making
- Analyzes referral trends and admissions data in collaboration with admissions teams.
- Leverages Salesforce CRM to track leads, inquiries, and outreach activities.
- Provides regular reports on ROI, market trends, and regional performance.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Supports onboarding and ongoing training for business development and admissions teams.
- Conducts weekly coaching sessions and biannual field rides with team members.
- Monitors communications to ensure high-quality, customer-facing interactions.
- Marketing & Brand Alignment
- Partners with marketing team members to advance branding, SEM, and social media strategies.
- Ensures consistent use of messaging and branding across internal and external communications.
- Innovation & Market Positioning
- Develops innovative strategies to establish Odyssey as a preferred provider.
- Cultivates differentiated clinical and organizational partnerships to enhance market position.
