Who We Are
Maritime Operations, a team within Mission Technologies-Global Security-Nuclear & Environmental Services, is looking for a Construction Integration Manager - Virginia Class Submarine candidate to join the team in Newport News, VA.
The role involves supporting Newport News Shipbuilding new construction efforts for Virginia Class Submarines. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and project management skills as they will be responsible for integrating construction and test priorities for the submarines being built at Newport News Shipbuilding. Specifically, tackling the challenges of the construction/testing of focused areas of responsibility as a project manager and timely turnover of ship systems to the customer; as well as working with a range of stakeholders to develop a resource loaded integrated ship delivery schedule from early stages of construction through ship delivery to the US Navy.
What You Will Do
- The role involves overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects, acting as a liaison between program management and planning, project team, line management, test organizations, and the customer.
- The job responsibilities include reviewing the status of projects and budgets, managing schedules, and preparing status reports.
- The candidate is expected to assess project issues and develop resolutions that meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing mechanisms to monitor project progress and intervene and solve problems with project managers, line managers, and customers.
What You Must Have
- Candidate is required to have either
- Eight (8) years relevant progressive experience with a Bachelors in engineering or related field
- Or six (6) years relevant progressive experience with a Masters in related field.
- Candidate is required to have the following experience:
- Four (4) years of supervisory experience.
- Four (4) years of project management experience.
- Candidate must have active-duty US Navy submarine operational and/or shipyard experience to include Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant experience.
- Candidate must have a strong technical knowledge of US Navy submarine system operation.
- Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Candidate must possess an active secret security clearance.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen. <
