About the Position 

We are seeking a quick and adaptive problem solver with agile methodology knowledge, capable of managing admissions systems efficiently, raising blockers effectively, and demonstrating smart thinking while overseeing a team of 6-7 direct reports to join the team as the Senior Coordinator, Selection & Admissions. 

 
The Senior Coordinator, Selection & Admissions will manage student intakes and lead a team to support this cyclical work. The team may increase with casuals in peak periods. This role will establish the admission requirements for each program as well as the selection process for each program and manage the selection cycle. 

 

The Senior Coordinator, Selection & Admissions will work closely with each cluster and the DPVC Learning & Teaching (L&T) Delivery as required as well as working closely with other Managers in Planning & Resources (P&R), specifically student services and delivery operations. This role will manage RMIT systems for international/domestic and VE/associate degrees.  

 

A key responsibility will be ensuring that RMIT policies, procedures, admissions and selections are accurate and up to date and implementing policies for VE. 

 

To be successful in this position, you’ll have: 

  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills that enable internal and external collaboration with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex, sensitive and confidential issues. 

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate for solutions with a strong customer focus. 

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team. 

  • A high level of analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative and creative solutions in a complex environment as well as a demonstrated ability in mapping and analysing data. 

  • Demonstrated effective organisational skills in the planning, development, implementation, operation and review of resources and/or services to achieve quality outcomes. 

  • Significant experience in student services and university environments.
