Department Overview
The Coworkers of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
Position Summary
Manages teams involved in maintaining or building parts, command & control outage response, and monitoring and restoration efforts of the system-wide service territory distribution grid. Provides safe and reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) General Orders, and all procedures and safety regulations and other regulatory requirements. Analyze and prioritize outages to determine most efficient restoration needs. Implements safety policies and best practices and manages employee’s accountability. Ensures full compliance with the Injury & Illness Prevention Programs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although, we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Annual Minimum: $120,000.00
Annual Maximum: $190,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees activities to ensure safe, efficient, and effective planning and coordination of work to meet business priorities.
- Positively impacts and supports the increased presence of T&D Supervisors in the field by assisting with administrative tasks
- Scheduling/coordinating training
- CDOC/IDOCs/Aging Orders
- Workplan issues (poorly written tags, changing tags (A to B for example, etc.)
- Reporting issues with EDVIR/360 App (run daily, weekly reports to give to frontlines for coaching and recognition)
- M&TE reporting/tracking
- Daily A tag report
- Rentals
- Supervises a team that may include M&C Coordinators, New Business Liaisons and other support staff
- Supports the execution team including coordination, tracking and reporting progress on the work plan as needed
- Ensures readiness of work and implements batching and bundling strategies to maximize efficiency.
- Ensures closure of emergent work, i.e., emergency notifications and facilitates business work (break-ins)
- Serves as lead for external customer needs. Supports Service Planning and Engineering to ensure customer commitments are met, including timely and accurate inspections of New Business applicant projects.
- Serves as lead for special assignments including process improvement and technology implementation.
- Identifies and pursues productivity improvements and implements work practices to improve efficiencies
- Reviews operational gaps and provides feedback to appropriate parties (e.g., Estimating, Sourcing, Engineering Standards).
- Develops and executes action plans to improve employee knowledge and skills for direct reports
- Ensures corrective actions are completed on time. Responds to emails/data requests and re-directs requests to other department owners as appropriate
- Proactively prepares for company efforts to reduce system risks, including Public Safety Power Shutoff. Serve in OEC/REC/EOC roles in major emergency activations.
- Leads and/or participates in 4A and Scheduling calls. Leads and facilitates hand-off meetings
- Provide vacation and other relief for superintendent and front-line supervisors as appropriate
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High-School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of Five (5) years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, field maintenance operations, or related electric utility experience
- Must obtain a California Driver’s License by first day of employment
