Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
Hill Country Community Clinic is seeking an experienced and dynamic Dental Director to lead our dental program and ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered oral health services in a community clinic setting at our Round Mountain and Redding locations. As a key member of the leadership team, the Dental Director will oversee clinical operations, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and provide strategic direction for the dental program aligned with Hill Country’s mission. This position requires a commitment to serving underserved populations and advancing health equity in our community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned which may become essential to the position.
- Provide direct patient care while modeling clinical excellence and evidence-based practices.
- Diagnoses dental condition, evaluates oral health, plans and provides treatment. Services include: oral examinations, prophylaxis, fillings, extractions, periodontal surgery, root canals, crowns and bridges; takes and interprets radiographs; performs follow-up services.
- Lead the development and implementation of clinical protocols, quality assurance programs, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Consults with managers, executives, and employees to identify problems, develop improvements, create and maintain quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including Medi-Cal, OSHA, HRSA, and other relevant guidelines.
- Oversee infection control and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
- Monitors system performance to ensure proper operation and identify possible problem areas.
- Identifies problems or potential problem areas and recommends solutions.
- Reviews, investigates, documents and processes clinical grievances, complaints, and/or implements disciplinary actions.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
- Conducts conferences with defendants and/or attorneys, negotiate settlements, and testify in court.
- Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
