The Role at a Glance – Bill Jacobs Lead Porter

As a Lead Porter, you’ll play a key leadership role in making sure the service drive and porter operations run like a well-oiled machine. From supporting the Assistant Service Manager with the day-to-day operations, you’ll help maintain a smooth, professional, and customer-focused environment. You’ll lead by example and ensure that porters are present, on-task, and providing the highest level of service and safety.

What You’ll Do

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee daily porter operations and keep things flowing smoothly across the service drive, car wash, and vehicle movement areas.
• Monitor porter attendance, punctuality, break coverage, and overall professionalism.
• Assign porter tasks based on traffic, workload, and dealership needs.
• Support shuttle coordination and ensure customer transportation is timely and professional.
• Coordinate lot movements, display vehicle positioning, and showroom vehicle readiness.
• Serve as the bridge between porters and management — relaying directives and providing performance feedback.
• Ensure the facility, service drive, and lounge are clean, organized, and customer-ready.
• Provide hands-on support moving vehicles, assisting with customers, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves:

• 2+ years of experience in a supervisor/management role
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• A team-first attitude with the ability to lead by example
• Punctual, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Experience scheduling team members across different shifts and ensuring full coverage for store hours and peak times. 

Nice-to-haves:

• 1–2 years dealership/automotive experience
• Prior leadership or team coordination experience
• Familiarity with service drive or lot operations
• Spanish/English bilingual a plus
